So what better month to make use of my red threads than February?

I employed the top half of my "Key to My Heart Sampler" pattern to stitch this first pinkeep pillow ~ perfect for Valentine's Day or any day!

Mehitable Wright's Redwork Sampler pinkeep features traditional motifs in keeping with Valentine's Day and all things heartfelt: peacocks (purity), keys (fidelity) hearts (divine love), and a potted flower (beauty and innocence).

Whether these hearts were intended as such or just made for the pleasure of stitching them up ~ I can't say, but don't they look sweet in this old bowl resting on a bed of flax?

The one on the left is made from humble homespun and the other patched from bits andpieces of red and blue.

See the tiny stitches in the homespun heart? The heart on the right has a hole in its top layer which allows you to see the batting and fabric underneath.

They measure 3"x3" and 3.5" x 3.5" respectively. You get both sweet little hearts and I'll even include the flax so you can place them in your own wood bowl just like this.
